About Me
My entire career has been spent building web sites, attracting visitors to those sites, and learning about why act they way that they do once they get there. At this point, I have been part of teams that have built or relaunched a couple of hundred sites with around a thousand design iterations.
My appreciation of our ability to measure, understand, and utimately, manipulate and predict user behavior came from my three years’ at the Laboratory for Automation Psychology at the University of Maryland. My job there was to assist graduate students in running studies on how people interact with interfaces. Through my work in the lab, I received hands-on experience with usability testing, research methodology, statistical analysis, and web programming.
As Senior Account Manager at Connections Media, LLC , I take a metrics-driven approach to inform the online strategy of our public issue advocacy, political, and corporate clients. I use demographic, user behavior, and other data to direct site design, paid advertising, and social media strategies to effectively message to our clients’ constituencies.
Prior to my role at Connections Media, I directed web analytics programs at the Corporate Executive Board where I was responsible for implementing industry-leading applications for capturing and analyzing user behavior across a broad portfolio of content sites as well as developing social media strategies to connect the company’s clientele (C-level executives in large corporations). Before that, I worked for a number of Washington, DC-area internet start-ups, including MDLinx, MarketResearch.com, and Newsletters.com.
