The State of the Blog

Visiting Red Square in April
Someone, evidently the only person who reads this blog, gave me some grief last week about the frequency of posts to my blog.
This hurt a little, but also made my day – someone is reading, and more importantly, someone cares.
This blog has two main purposes: As a venue for me to practice writing , particularly technical writing in an article-length format; and as a means for me to comment on issues that interest me related to the web, or more specifically, issues related to social media and web analytics.
As someone that has been an internet professional for over a decade and has been working with social media for the past several years, I can attest that content development is a key component of a successful social campaign – something I am failing with this blog. Although I generally have a pretty crazy schedule, I am also increasingly able to find inspiration for articles as I write more. I am also going to start blogging more often about topics that interest me that are only tangentially related to the purpose of the blog, like data visualizaion, demographics, and statistics. To the person who reads my blog, enjoy (and feel free to make any content suggestions in the comments)!
